Vliegtuigstreep 2 (Airplane Contrail 2) marks a profound minimalist pivot in my oeuvre.
Here, I confront the contemporary landscape at its most basic and pristine element: a brilliant azure sky sliced by the white geometry of airplane condensation trails. Or perhaps it is one of those chemtrails people talk about—I leave that entirely to your own imagination.
I just wanted to create a minimalist painting that is very much photorealistic too.
