During a visit to a bright, modern bookstore, I had seen this stack of brand-new, flawlessly printed biography books on Marilyn Monroe carefully arranged on a bookshelf.
Looking at the books, I couldn't help but realize that this is all that remains. A whole life, complete with its towering triumphs and deep private sorrows, is neatly packaged as a consumer product.
A lifetime of human experience is bound tightly between two covers, now sitting on a retail shelf with a price tag attached to it that could never do justice to her life and the joy she gave to the world.
